Hello! I'm finally getting to my blog about recent holiday (British word for vaction :)). We were very brave and took the girls to Disneyland Paris and around the city to see the sights! Actually, traveling with the kids is slowly getting a little easier. Avery does great walking and Audra is not such a baby any more, so we don't need as much stuff as we used to. Those of you who have babies know what I'm talking about:). Audra is walking now, so that makes things easier too, although she usually wants to walk in the other direction most of the time. Haha. So, we still had to take along the big ol' stroller with us as you will see in many of our photos. It's a good thing too, because we did A LOT of walking, and she needed to nap during the day. Howard and I were talking though, that one day we will probably regret not waking her up to take pictures at the Eiffel Tower, etc. Instead we left her in the stoller for the picture! lol. Oh well, atleast we got some.
What made this vacation 100 times more exciting is that Mimi and Poppy met us in Paris! The girls were thrilled to see them and so were we! It was great that eventhough we live what seems a half a world away, we were still able to share this experience with them. After Paris, they were able to come to Scotland with us for a few days, but their time was cut short with us when they received a call about a death in the family. They had to leave a week early, so we didn't get to spend near as much time as we wanted to with them. Of course we understand, but it was hard to see them go:(.
Disneyland was wonderful! The weather was great and the girls got to ride a lot of fun rides, but we didn't get to stay too long because we wanted to see the sights in Paris as well. The last night we stayed near the Champ Elyse'es which was so sool. Everywhere you looked there was Armani, Versace, Chanel, Dolce and Gabanna, Harry Winston! One can dream! We found out very quickly that the people are very rude and the food not so great, but the architecture was gorgeous and everyone was eating at little cafes outside. Most people dress in dark colors and wear boots and scarves of all kinds. Funny to think how people in Texas are starting to dress for summer and we are still in winter clothes over here. Grrrr...
We also saw the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame. Eventhough this was my second time in Paris, I wasn't 16 so I appreciated it so much more. Here are some of the pics from our wonderful vacation...Enjoy!!!
